Spring into Summer

Life is starting to calm down a little bit with Parker fitting into our lives. He had started to sleep more at night so I was only getting up once most nights. He is eating like a champ and has had no issues of any kind...until he hit the 3-4 month growth spurt/sleep regression/leap. Holy hell that boy turned into a nightmare!! He used to eat, get rocked, put in crib still drowsy and would fall asleep. This was not the case for about 3 weeks. He had to be OUT for me to transfer him back into the crib. Then his naps would only last for about 30 minutes...took longer than that to put him to sleep!! He then went back to waking 3-4 times a night. Momma wasn't happy! But he slowly came out of it, he started falling asleep easier again, naps became longer, and he now gives me some nights of waking only once, but he is still getting up most nights twice. I still think he needs the formula though cuz he takes about 6 oz when he is up, so its not like I can just calm him down without feeding him. So I feel like we are out of hell week and back to somewhat normal :)

We took our first family of 4 trip to Auburn with Stacie for a big 50 mile race, from Sac to Auburn. We stayed in a beautiful compound with so much green area, a huge pool and a hot tub. So nice!! Stacie finished in good time and Jason came in a little bit after. While they ran, Nana and Papa took us to lunch and the Disney store...much to Alyssa's enjoyment! After the race was done, Nana and Papa said their goodbyes and we got some booze and hit the hot tub!! Parker was a damn champ and passed out in his Rock N Play for the whole time. Then slept until 8 am! Good boy ;)

This is the view out our front balcony.

Alyssa wasn't as thrilled to be in the car that long haha.

Parker was worn out from hitting the mall while Dadda and CeeCee ran 50 miles, he slept so well, letting Momma enjoy some adult conversation, wine and hot tub.

Alyssa jumped the gun and hit the hot tub early, before it heated up and before we were ready for her, she jumped in and went straight to the bottom! She could see Jason to the side and made her way over to him and he pulled her out. Luckily it didn't scare her too bad, she warmed up to it again and eventually got in with us.

Cant go anywhere with Nana and Papa without getting something sweet :)

Easter!! Not a huge holiday in the Riddle house, but it was the first big holiday since Parker joined us. (No, Valentines Day doesn't count haha) I got the kids some cute baskets, a book and stuffy each and filled the eggs with candy! Alyssa was so much better this year at finding the eggs...she is somewhat candy motivated.

We started work on the back yard!! So far we have set up the play area and built a shed, half for the dogs and half for the outside toys. We put together the playhouse that Nana and Papa bought for Alyssa's birthday, that was a task and a half with Parker not napping and Alyssa being a booger. Next step is to clear the rock and dirt from this area under the window and to build the fence for the dog run. Then we get to pour our patio! I feel that after we get the patio, we might be able to get lawn by the fall! Its gonna be a useable functioning area :)

I love cozy coupe in the garage shed!

Parker turns 3 months old the same day Alyssa turned 3 years old!! For Alyssa's birthday party we had the cousins to Jump Man Jump. The in-laws came up that Friday and helped me out so much by entertaining the kids while I cooked the food and baked cupcakes and prepared for the big party. I wouldn't have been able to get it all together without their help!

Just the next weekend with Jason's birthday and the big Silver States 50/50. His running group puts this race on and its a big hit. Stacie came up and stayed with us. I had to figure out how to get a shade tent, chairs, blanket, ice chest and toys down to the park with both kids. I felt like a badass loading my moms wagon and even strapped it in place so it wouldn't tip over, making me feel like a bonehead trying to pick everything up. Luckily one of Jason's running folks offered me a prime parking spot and I was able to strap Parker into his Moby wrap and I just lifted the wagon out of my jeep and pull it to the finish line festivities.

Alyssa helps Mom and I with all the building! Passing me screws as I need them. And sitting in her designated spot while I ran the saw.

Parker and Alyssa go to Caughlin Club Kidz while I swim and they brought in photographers for their first 'school' portraits! So damn cute!

Chelsea scored a big water slide at a garage sale and had us all come over to enjoy it...everyone had a blast :)

Time to hit the lake!! We are way too close to Tahoe to not take advantage of beach days...it was surprisingly more relaxing than I imagined and the kids played well together, Alyssa loved the water and the frigid temp didn't bother her.

I made a garage sale score too!! I got a full 6 chair patio set with an umbrella and stand for $50! Its been a lifesaver in my backyard cuz I have NO shade.

Alyssa had her first dentist appt and I bribed her with a present if she did well and opened wide for the dentist to look at her teeth. She took x-rays and sat still during her cleaning and she passed with flying colors. Didn't squirm, didn't fight it at all!! Such a champ!

Jason and Stacie signed up for a training run in Tahoe and Stacie got offered to use a friends cabin in Soda Springs. We said SURE!! I arrived Friday afternoon and soon both kids were napping leaving me to the front balcony alone. It was pure bliss.

The kids and I took a walk the next morning waiting for the runners to finish.

Alyssa waiting for Dadda and CeeCee...She had some decent aim!!

Sunday was Fathers day and Jason and I headed to Tahoe City for lunch and beach before heading home. We ate at Tahoe Brewery and got some loaded tater tots and burgers for lunch!! Holy WOW!! So good. Alyssa is such a prissy girl sometimes, she didn't like this beach cuz it was too rocky and she got sand on her feet.

But she is a tough as nails chick too, she slid on some rocks and tore her belly up but just came to me for a minute before running off again to play.

My big boy is such a happy guy!!  Love his giggles and smiles :)

This weekend is an anniversary of sorts, Jason and I moved in together this weekend (the Rodeo is town, that's the only way I remember haha) in 2009. Its a nice anniversary, finally coming home to Reno. Maybe we will take the kids and take a '5 years later' picture.
