Fall Days

I have no idea where to begin!! The summer has ended and fall has arrived. I don't think I have touched my air conditioner or heater in weeks. I LOVE this weather. Just open some windows and the house is perfectly cool.

With my final year in school started I decided to go out and get an early graduation present! Introducing Cami the Nikon. I'm in LOVE. I have NO idea how to use her yet but I am practicing and love the outcome, even just in auto mode.

Stacie came up to run a section in Tahoe with Jason to get a long run in before his big 62 mile race. I was content to play with my camera with out kids. Its was a fun day. We even stopped at Garwoods on the way home to get some food and a Wet Woody!

Damn runners ran out of water before seeing me for the final leg and Jason casually asked if I would start up the trail with some drinks...little did I know that Id get a nice 4 mile hike in that day...in flip flops.

Balloon Races!! I'm a huge fan. Its so so fun to drive around a corner in N Virginia and see the mass of balloons. We parked up by the Ives house and met up with Chel and Bryce and the kids and walked down to the park. The kids were troopers and enjoyed themselves.

Later that day was Lilys birthday party at Jump Man Jump. Such a hit for the kids. Lily got a surprise visit from Anna and Elsa and Alyssa was quite content to go nowhere near them! Booger.

I love our evenings visiting with neighbors Mandy and Emmie. The kids just run around and play while we get to visit :)

Keegan turns 5! I'm sort of shocked that our kids are this old now...what the heck??

Lake Tahoe Weekend. Its an annual thing by now, we started when Alyssa was just 4 months old. Stacie runs the triple marathon and Jason did a long run to prepare for his race and started running about midnight and finished around noon...They both did awesome!! And I decided to join in on the fun this year with my second open water swim. It was NOT a true 2 mile course, I finished in 42 minutes and my watch only had the distance a bit over 1.5 miles...still a fun adventure.

My first swim I could see the bottom the whole time, it went along the beach for the most part. While this beach was MUCH easier on my feet, the water went deep. And I got a tad bit freaked out. All I could see was this immense deep blue and I started envisioning shadows and such creeping into my line of sight. Had to pull myself together and finish it out strong!

Chelseas baby shower for Miss Brynlee. It was a fun party to plan and the ladies all had a fun time. We decorated head bows and ate some amazing sprinkle cake!

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, Chel was on strict bed rest and I decided to have cousin dinner at my moms house so my folks could spend time with the kids too since it was just Tristan and us anyways.
I made yummy tacos and brought the bounce house over and it was a successful night, with Alyssa and Matthew playing well into the darkness hours.

When did this kid grow up??

Sometimes I get glimpses of these two playing together and it just kills me. For the most part Alyssa is a total troll. Pulling things from him, pushing him off of his toys, telling him to STOP, but sometimes I get to see a friendship there.

Big sky in my little valley!

Brynlee decided to join us on one of the scariest days of my life. So glad everyone is well and healthy and in good hands :)

Our San Diego trip for Jasons big 62 mile race. Cuyumaca 100k. The kids and I stayed at my folks house the night before the early flight so the kids could stay asleep. Jason swung by and picked me up and we were off to the airport! It was fun meeting up with the rest of the gang and talking to adults. There were so many kids and families with eight millions pieces of luggage and huge strollers. I was very glad the kids weren't with us.

The trip was smooth, after we landed we drove to Coronado and had some lunch, saw the beach, saw the city and drove up to Julien where our house was. This town is so flippin cute! Its got an old Virginia City charm to it. There was a hand painted sign saying Sangria! So we walked on in. Sat in the cool patio and had my drink then walked all around the town. Love this parking lot with the sign 'Honor System'.

The gang is off to start their adventure!

Jason coming in to mile 14.

There are no pictures from the next aid station, he was a total zombie after climbing the peak and the roughest part of the course. We wanted to stop but there was no easy way down the mountain so he just kept on trucking. I saw him again at about mile 32 and he was in much better spirits. He had one little 12 mile loop to do before picking up his sister for a pacer. I went to an aid station on the side of the road that crew wasn't allowed at...oh well! And when he came in he was NOT feeling good. He sat down and his whole leg was jumping around like crazy. I gave him a snickers and he chowed down on the aids food and drink and got a bit more replenished. I had the hard task to just watch him take off again knowing he was in some major pain. I went back to the point where Mike and Stacie were waiting and after hearing my update Mike decided to run back on the course to meet up with him and bring him in. When Mike and Jason came back into view...just wow. He was the walking dead. Total pale, white face. He had NO color, no emotion. He was in pain and dehydrated. Mike forced a pedialite down him and took charge of 'get Jason back in the game'. After changing clothes, wiping down the dirt and grime from his body and face and pretty much a nice cool dunk from the water trough, he took off with Stacie to pull him through the final loop.

Then darkness came. I was able to see them at two aid stations, luckily the temperature cooled and the stations started serving hot food. By the second aid station he was actually laughing and talking to the other people around. Such a change from how he was where they took off.

Biggest achievement yet!! So proud of him for sticking it out and completing this major goal of his!

It was such a fun weekend and I'm glad we got to share it with a bunch of Reno guys and gals :) Everyone ran great!

Finally got my new wrap! Alyssa helped me break it in :)

There is a little farm in Red Rock/Cold Springs area that we just had to hit up. I have no idea where she got it from but she called this guy 'Mister No Noggin'

This weekend I am throwing a kids pumpkin painting and costume party! I'm so excited and Alyssa cant wait to play with all her friends and cousins and share her bounce house! Hopefully the weather hold cuz I really don't want to paint in my kitchen haha!

I told Parker that after Halloween is over we get to start on Christmas stuff...he isn't impressed.
