The year is going full speed ahead! I cant believe its actually April! Im going to be 33 this month. Wow. Haha. January was my month for Cousin Dinner, we had a small gathering with just the Twichells. Pretty relaxing evening with the kids all playing nicely :)
I wanted to do a fun cake smash session for Parkers invites for his birthday. He wasnt as into it as I thought he would be. Alyssa was ;)
School has kept me super busy, 4 nights a week I am in class and luckily the material is MUCH easier this semester. I'm mad at myself that I had to retake 403 but Im glad its making sense to me this time around. Only 4.5 more weeks until I'm DONE! Its getting so close, so real. I keep getting commencement announcements from UNR and I picked up my cap and gown already. Its going to be so weird when I don't have to think about homework or tests or papers. Just work and home :)
Parkers first birthday was super fun! I decided on a Batman theme and it turned out so cute! The whole family wore the bat and Parker was so darn cute!
Our first big snow of the year! I was so excited to bring Parker in to it...he had other ideas.
Spring has sprung!
After work on Fridays when it has been nice Ive been able to bring a blanket out front and lay in the fresh air while the kids play. Its a nice habit that I hope we get to continue as the weather warms more.
Easter was fun! We did egg dying at Mals Cousin Dinner. Parker woke up in a piss poor mood so Jason took him home while I got an evening with my girl. The kids actually participated a lot more this year! The adults did most of the coloring but the kids enjoyed dropping them in the color cups and watching them change colors :)
And Tristan fell asleep...seems to be a normal Foley party like that ;)
I was a bad working mom and made the kids wait until I was off before they did Easter. Alyssa was so damn excited! I swear, Easter and Halloween are her favorite holidays just because they involve candy ;)
She was so into the egg hunt, I tried to hide them a bit harder this year and she did pretty good searching them out.
We booked a CRUISE!! I had been planning a graduation trip and it was kinda between Disneyland and a cruise, I found a hotel and park pass deal for like $1600 but I was having a hard time due to Parkers age. I didn't want the whole trip to be a cranky baby's nightmare. But with a cruise, we could be just right down the hall from the room for naps and some cruise lines do the kids camp which Alyssa would LOVE. We ended up booking a shorter cruise, 4 days to Mexico with a huge suite with balcony. Ive never stayed in such a big room and the rest of the gang has never been on a ship so Im so excited! We planned it for the day after Parker turns 2 so he can go into the kids camp too, which gives Jason and some alone time too!
Work has been draining me. I know its a crazy busy time for us right now and it will calm down soon but holy hell...I'm so DONE with working weekends and holidays. I cant plan any trips with Jason, I doubt Ill get this 'promotion' they keep talking about and I think they are just playing head games. I want to do the job, Anti Money Laundering/Compliance stuff but I feel like I wouldn't even get a raise, and they still want me to do Slots on the weekends...um, NOPE. So I have been applying like crazy, so anywhere haha. I check the State website almost daily now to check for openings and have put in for some Accounting Specialist, or Accounting Assistants jobs at DMV and UNR. Hope they pan out, Id love to get my foot in the door with the State benefits and such! I applied at Renown for a business internship and they called me for an interview! It was a crazy long 40 minutes with every dreaded interview question and it sounded like a cool gig, in a data analyst office, but they haven't called back yet. Darn.
I've been a shitty friend for the last few months but Im hoping to get back to normal here once school is out...play dates, actual conversations, maybe a few date nights :) All just waiting for May 11 (my LAST final) May 15th (Graduation ceremony) and May 17th! The big party! Ive already ordered a bunch of decorations and the cakes and the outfits...its going to be so fun, and planning it has kept me sane ;)
My next blog entry will be so fun, hopefully with a new job, the graduation and party pictures and maybe even some projects will be getting done, like painting my house and putting in the back lawn!
